Membership in The Joseph Conrad Society (UK)
Conrad's First Command The Otago

The bulk of the Society's membership are academics and postgraduate students, but we welcome members from all walks of life with a serious interest in the study of the writings and life of Joseph Conrad.

Although based in the United Kingdom, we pride ourselves on our international character and welcome members from all countries.

Membership/Subscription Categories

Memberships for 2024 are available in the following categories:

  • Individual Membership £35
  • Student Membership £20
  • Library Membership £40
  • Life Membership £500

Membership includes two issues per year of The Conradian: The Journal of the Joseph Conrad Society (UK). Membership supports the various activities of the Society. Membership in the Society is required of those participating at a Society conference.

Non-members whose work has been accepted for publication in The Conradian are invited to take out membership to support the Society for the calendar year in which their work appears. Donations from all individuals are welcome and can be added to the subscription fee.

Payment of membership for several years is an option at the rate for the year paid. Please pay the appropriate amount, indicating this on the Membership Dues form (see below).
